This vintage Bulova is stately and ornate without being over-the-top in its decorative design. Presenting Bulova's His Excellency QQ from 1950 in great mechanical and physical condition!
The dial is a silvered-champagne color showing a light patina, with gold Breguet numerals and gold hands. The hour and minute hands are cathedral-style, while the sub-second hand is stick-style with a lollipop end. The minute and second tracks are black, and the dial is signed Bulova Excellency, also in black.
The 10K gold filled case measures 27.3 x 26mm and features a very handsome scroll design on the horizontal sides of the case. The fancy lugs are three-tiered steps with a beveled bezel. The original crown is signed Bulova.
The USA-made movement is caliber 10BM, with 21 jewels, a Breguet hairspring, and a 41-hour power reserve. It has been freshly serviced and runs great!
This Bulova His Excellency QQ wristwatch is presented on a new 15.6mm two-piece deep brown leather strap with a gold-toned buckle and burgundy stitching.
At 73 years old, this vintage timepiece has proven itself as a dependable, stately wristwatch and will undoubtedly continue as such for generations. Of course, one can retire it to a personal collection. You decide.

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. In the listing details we typically try to do our best to list all pertinent dimensions of a watch. If you don't see it, or we failed to do so, please reach out to us. Women’s watches from the 1900s-1970s were also much smaller than today's offerings. Please also feel free to ask any questions you have pertaining to size.
We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended. Please review the photos and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
